cap and scroll for graduation

Due to field conditions Wednesday evening at Regency Furniture Stadium, Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is changing the start times of two graduation ceremonies on Thursday, May 29. The delay allows more time for staff to prepare the field and spectator seating for the ceremonies at Regency Furniture Stadium.

Westlake High School’s ceremony will start at 10 a.m., instead of the previously reported time of 9 a.m. The 1 p.m. start to Thomas Stone High School’s ceremony has been pushed back to 1:30 p.m. La Plata High School’s graduation will begin at 5 p.m., as shared with parents on Tuesday, May 27.

The gates will open for guests 30 minutes before the start of each ceremony. Each guest must have a ticket to attend a ceremony. Ceremony times for tickets have been updated in GoFan.co, the online ticketing website used by CCPS, to reflect the time changes.

As a reminder, Westlake and Thomas Stone high schools are closed tomorrow, May 29, for students as staff will be at the stadium to work during the ceremonies. La Plata High School will be open Thursday for students and staff.

Families of Westlake and Thomas Stone graduates have been notified as of Wednesday evening of the schedule changes by email and phone call.
