Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) today announces several administrative changes that will take affect for the 2024-2025 school year. All changes are effective July 1.

  • Anthony Carroll, principal at Mary B. Neal Elementary School, has been named principal at Mattawoman Middle School.

    • Carroll will replace Mattawoman Principal Sonia Blue, who will retire at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

    • Carroll’s move from Neal to Mattawoman takes effect with the 2024-2025 school year.
       

  • Michael Hoffman, principal at Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy Elementary School, will take over as principal at Mary B. Neal Elementary School. This change is effective with the 2024-2025 school year.
     

  • Gary Lesko, principal at Eva Turner Elementary School, has been named principal at Milton M. Somers Middle School.

    • Lesko will replace Somers Principal Sandra Taylor, who will retire at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

    • Lesko’s move from Turner to Somers takes effect with the 2024-2025 school year.

Announcements about principal selections for both Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy and Eva Turner elementary schools for the 2024-2025 school year will be made by CCPS later this month.
