On behalf of the Board of Education of Charles County, Board Chairperson Michael K. Lukas asked for Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) to share the following information about the process to fill a vacant Board seat in District 1.

As an administrative function of the Board, the Board of Education of Charles County met last month to continue work on the process for filling the Board of Education member vacancy in District 1.

The Board will continue to meet to ensure the process is fair and equitable for all potential candidates and citizens of District 1. The Board currently has several other items on its agenda including graduations.

The Board will publicize its vacancy replacement process, including how applications will be received and when candidates will be interviewed, after summer break. The Board appreciates the support from the community.
