A new barbering textbook is being proposed by Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) for Career and Technical Education (CTE) students enrolled in the Principles and Practicing of Barbering course.
The text, Milady Standard Barbering, 6th Edition, will be implemented in the 2022-2023 school year, and is available for review at the Jesse L. Starkey Administration Building in La Plata, and the Robert D. Stethem Educational Center in Pomfret.
The textbook is recommended by the Maryland State Department of Labor and Licensing, Maryland Board of Barbers for a program of study approved by the Maryland State Department of Education.
Parents, students and community members are encouraged to review the book and provide comments to the Board of Education. Written comments can be mailed to the Board of Education, P.O.
